On August 13th, 2018 Northwestern State University recognized one faculty member from each college with Excellence in Teaching Awards, which demonstrate a commitment to students in and outside of the classroom. On April 12th, 2018 NSU held its annual Research Day where students and faculty present on research they have conducted. The Psychology department had an amazing turn out with several of our graduate and undergraduate students presenting their research. Also Dr. Patrice Moulton served as the keynote speaker presenting on her experience/research in Nepal.

PSI CHI honor society help raise money for the Empower Nepali Girls Foundation
Pictured here is President D. Maggio, Provost, Dr. Gentry, the Psychology Faculty, Graduate Students of PSI CHI honor society who helped to raise money for the Empower Nepali Girls foundation. PSI CHI members created decorated jars for students to donate money. The top three faculty with the most money in their jars had to dress up for Halloween. All proceeds are used to send a young woman of Nepal to school

Shelia Ray Charles, daughter of legendary Ray Charles and National Spokesperson for The Ray of Hope Crusade for Recovery, will perform and share her inspirational story of recovery.
